Urogenital atrophy is a chronic condition in which the tissue quality of the vulva, vagina, urethra, and bladder become progressively affected, usually in postmenopausal women. The condition results from estrogen deficiency, though symptoms may not become apparent for several years after menopause. It has been described as a “silent epidemic”, with a lack of awareness detrimentally affecting rates of diagnosis and access to treatment. Indeed, symptoms are thought to exert a negative impact on the quality of life of up to 50% of postmenopausal women.

This short course has been designed to teach healthcare providers everything they need to know about urogenital atrophy in order to increase recognition and improve patient care. It should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
